STATESBORO—Glenn Jackson and Taylor Roberson from Effingham County High School were two of the high school seniors invited to attend Georgia Southern University’s Annual Southern Scholars Showcase in December at its main campus in Statesboro.

“Georgia Southern University’s Southern Scholars Showcase, a unique by-invitation-only event, attracts outstanding high school seniors from all over the Southeast,” said Susan Davies, director of Admissions at Georgia Southern University. “Recently named one of the Top Best Values among all public colleges and universities by Kiplinger, Georgia Southern continues to attract top students who not only value personal attention, but the amenities and benefits of a major research institution.”

To be invited, students must score a minimum of 1,300 on the SAT, or 29 on the ACT, with a strong academic average in high school courses. During the Showcase, students are given direct access to student organizations, academic and student service offerings, and also interview for a variety of Georgia Southern University academic scholarships.
