The process of enlisting craftsmen for the 4th Annual Dickens Village Craft Festival has begun.

This event takes place in conjunction with the Lions Club Christmas Parade in Rincon. The craft festival takes place in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Rincon. An application fee of $20 reserves a spot. All the proceeds go to international missions.

The deadline for applications is Nov. 10.

This event continues to grow each year. This is a juried event for crafts people. Trophies and ribbons are awarded to the craftsmen. A special trophy is awarded for Best of the Show. In the past years, handmade jewelry, porcelain dolls, and hand-carved pieces have taken the Best of the Show Award.

All local and regional artisans are encouraged to take part in this event. There are no flea market type items accepted for the event. Festival organizers are looking for hand-made pottery, jewelry, art work, sculpture, homemade jellies and jams, quilts, Christmas type crafts, and more.

Applications can be picked up at First Baptist Church at 201 E. 6th Street in Rincon. Forms can be faxed or e-mailed. For more information, call the church office at 826-5536.

If you have questions, call Dr. Bill Gammon at the church office. All food vendors spots have been taken.
