Mary Agnes (Snooks) and Preston G. Exley

Preston G. and Mary Agnes (Snooks) Exley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 31, 2010.  They were married by Rev. Kell Hinson at Springfield United Methodist Church on Jan. 31, 1960.  

Preston retired from the Savannah Sugar Refinery after 40 years. He served in the Georgia Army National Guard for 23 years and retired as the commander of C Battery 2/214 Field Artillery Battalion. He also served 14 years on the Effingham County School Board.  Most recently, Preston retired after serving 12 years as the Chief Magistrate Judge of Effingham County. He now serves part time as Senior Judge in the Magistrate Court of Georgia.  

Mary held positions with Sears Roebuck and Company, Exchange Bank of Springfield and Effingham County Hospital. She is a retired paraprofessional with the Effingham County Board of Education. They are active members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield and are involved in many organizations in the community.

The Exleys’ children, Michelle and Alan Van Sickle and Stuart and Tonya Exley, along with their grandchildren, Marina and Zachary Van Sickle and Justin Beasley, invite you to a reception honoring Mary and Preston on Sunday Jan. 31, 2010, from 3-5 p.m. in Dent Hall at Springfield United Methodist Church, 210 Cleveland St. in Springfield.
