Mr. and Mrs. Lavert Howard will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 8.

The couple was married on July 7, 1957, at Turkey Branch United Methodist Church with Rev. Kell Hinson officiating. He worked at Union Camp in Garden City for 44 years. She was employed as a paraprofessional in the Effingham County school system for 32 years.

They have two children, Linda and Jay; daughter-in-law, Ginger; and grandsons, Nicholas and Wyatt.

A reception to honor the couple will be hosted by their children from 3-5 p.m. at Effingham Baptist Church, 1007 N. Columbia Ave., Rincon. All family and friends are invited. Your presence is your gift. The family requests no other.
