Varnie and Priscilla Wilson of Springfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren at a private dinner celebration.

Priscilla DeLoach, daughter of the late Rudolph and Virginia DeLoach of Clyo, and Varnie Wilson, son of the late Rudolph and Dreta Wilson of Springfield, were married on Feb. 8, 1959, at First Baptist Church of Springfield. The couple resides in the home they built together 48 years ago.

They are active members of Grace Community Church in Rincon. The couple is a co-owner of Wilson’s Insurance Agency in Springfield.

Children of the couple are Monique (Drew) Boyd of Warwick, R.I., Todd (Elouise) Wilson of Sylvania, Gina (Scott) Bass of Clyo, Terra (Rusty) Dasher of Springfield, Dana (Rodney) King of Springfield and Trevor (Kim) Wilson of Springfield.

The couple has 18 grandchildren: Bethany and Aaron Boyd; Tori Wilson; Sarah and Rachel Bass; Russ, Jillian, Connor, Jacob and Parker Dasher; Abbey, Amber, Brittany and Brianna King; and Zachary, Ashley, Tucker and Marlina Wilson.

The children would like to publicly thank their parents for the Christian examples and values that they have lived before them. All that we are or ever hope to be, we owe to both of you because of your strong desire to live Godly lives.
