Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Zipperer of Guyton will celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary on April 5.

The Zipperers were married on April 5, 1940, in a ceremony with immediate family in attendance at the Zion Lutheran parsonage in the town known then as Marlow (now Guyton).

Mr. Zipperer retired from farming and also from a position with Georgia Pacific. Mrs. Zipperer, the former Minnie Lee Helmey of Pineora, is a homemaker. They are both lifetime members of Zion Lutheran Church and continue to take part in all church activities.

The Zipperers have two daughters, Emma Lee (Clayton) Dasher and Martell (Michael) Hall, both of Guyton, and a daughter-in-law, Brenda (Zipperer) Pack of Ellabell.

The Zipperers have six grandchildren, Holly Zipperer, Richard Hall, Wade Zipperer, Dana Lee Smith, Melissa Osteen and Adam Pack.

They have seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Chapman, Victoria and Julianna Hall, Cade and Keller Zipperer, Brooke Pack and Evan Smith.

They will be honored with a reception in the fellowship hall given by their family immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service at Zion on April 6.
