Annie Moses Band to play at FBC Springfield

The Annie Moses Band epitomizes the notion that the family that plays together, stays together.

In their case, the band — all members of the same family — plays a blend of classical, jazz, folk and Celtic music with an uplifting message.

The Annie Moses Band will perform at First Baptist Church of Springfield on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.

The group is touring in support of its latest album, Pilgrims & Prodigals, which they describe as a “collection of songs that explores the timeless theme of roaming and redemption.”

“Pilgrims & Prodigals is based on the idea that everyone in the world is going somewhere,” said violinist and singer Alex Moses. “We’re all on a personal journey. We are all either someone who’s finding our way back home or we’re someone who’s running away from home.”

The Annie Moses Band has played at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry, and earlier this year they performed at the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C.
