First Baptist Church of Rincon will dedicate its new preschool and children’s Sunday School building and have an open house on Sunday.

The dedication and ribbon-cutting will be at 11:45 a.m., immediately after the second morning worship service. The ceremony will be at the east entrance to the building, underneath the new walk-over that connects the building to the old buildings.

After the dedication and ribbon-cutting, there will be an open house from noon until 4 p.m. Visitors are welcome to tour the building during those hours.

The two-story building is 24,000 square feet, and has preschool Sunday School classrooms on the first floor, and grade school Sunday School classrooms and a children’s church worship area on the second floor. It has a nursing mother’s room, special needs room for disabled children and a spacious new children’s church worship room with a kids village and stage for puppets and drama. The new building has an elevator and walk-over connection to the second floors of the old educational building and Memorial Chapel, which allows handicapped access to all three buildings.

The building was designed by S.P. Design Group of Macon and built by Pope Construction of Statesboro. Oversight was given by the First Baptist Church Building Committee, Freddy Long, chairman, and members Wayne Whitley, Toss and Jill Allen.

The public is invited to attend the dedication and open house. There is plenty of parking in the new parking lot located off Richland Avenue between Rincon Elementary School and the Memorial Chapel.
