The big band sounds of The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra will be coming to the Mars Theatre on Saturday night.

Jeremy Davis, a Rincon resident, and Clay Johnson lead the show, which is a high-energy presentation in the style and swagger of the late Frank Sinatra. Davis, the leader of the 17-piece band, plays tenor saxophone and sings while Johnson plays trombone.

Davis, a Louisiana native, led various bands on more than 200 shows a year on the road before forming the Equinox Orchestra. He has performed with David Sanborn, Ellis Marsalis, George Clinton, the Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule, The Beach Boys, Col. Bruce Hampton, Derek Trucks and others.

Johnson has been around the U.S. and the world to work with churches and communities as a minister and missionary, including Ukraine, India and Ethiopia.

The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra will take the Mars stage Saturday night at 8 p.m. They will perform Friday night at the Charles H. Morris Center in Savannah, celebrating a century of Frank Sinatra and what would have been his 100th birthday, at 7:30 p.m.
