The Exchange Club of Savannah welcomes its youngest president in local club history.

Jason Ford, associate vice president and investment officer for Wells Fargo Advisors — formerly Wachovia Securities — will carry on the club’s primary objectives including community service through the promotion of Americanism, multiple youth programs, and the prevention of child abuse.

“The lifeline of our club centers on community service,” said Ford, president of the Exchange Club of Savannah. “In the past, we have excelled in organizing specific programs that help sustain our youth, our service men and women, our local volunteers, and our senior citizens. These people are the pulse of Savannah and we are proud to serve as their advocates.”

An Effingham County native, Ford graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BBA in Finance in 1999 and currently holds the Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 registrations.

Ford joined the Exchange Club in 2001 and was educated in several of the club’s annual programs that serve the Savannah area including: Crime and Fire Prevention,  a program that honors outstanding fire and police officers by recognizing their service to the community; the Book of Golden Deeds Awards, a program that recognizes local volunteers who donate countless hours of their personal time to our local community; the Sunshine Special, a program that focuses on underprivileged and disabled children; and Meals on Wheels.

“As each cause is significant, the dearest to my heart is the Child Abuse Prevention Program,” said Ford. “This program focuses on strengthening families from the inside out. Each year, our club supports the annual Quick-Think-O-Thon,  a tournament that involves working hand-in-hand with local schools by placing board games in second grade classrooms. The games help educate our children about child safety and abuse.”

A winner is chosen from each school to compete in our local tournament and from there they can advance to district and national conventions where they receive scholarships and rewards.”
