The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum will participate in the 5th Annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine, on Saturday.

Smithsonian’s Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institute’s Washington, D.C., properties. Doors will be open free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors at museums and cultural institutions nationwide.

Visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday to download a Museum Day admission card. Attendees must present the Museum Day admission card to gain free entry to participating institutions. Each card provides museum access for two people and one admission card is permitted per household.

The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum is located at 175 Bourne Ave. in Pooler, off I-95’s exit 102. The museum is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, except on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. For more information, visit www.mightyeighth.org or call (912) 748-8888.
