Madison Polk was promoted to the rank of sergeant on July 1, 2010. He is currently stationed at 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan.
June 2010 marked his fifth year as a Marine and he has reenlisted for another four-year contract.
Sgt. Polk is the son of Tim and Ruthie Polk of Guyton and a graduate of Effingham County High School.
