Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin is alerting Georgians to the recall of a product that may cause health problems in some individuals.

Harry and David Operations Corp., of Medford, Ore., is recalling approximately 1440 bags of Harry and David Hearthside Soups, Southwestern Chicken Chili Mix, because they may actually contain another chili soup mix, and thus contain a milk ingredient (whey), not declared in the ingredient statement.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to dairy products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.

All of the recalled bags have the lot code 8221-1 printed on the price sticker on the bottom of the bag.

The clear, plastic bags of soup mix are 12- to 16-ounce in weight tied at the top with a cream and red ribbon. The mixes were sold in Harry and David Stores throughout the U.S. and may have been sold in other retail stores.

Consumers with questions about the recalled product may phone the Customer Service division at 800-345-5655, 24 hours a day.

Customers may arrange for refunds through this number as well.
