Applications for the Community Impact Grants are available on the United Way Web site at www.uwce.org.

There will be four information sessions about the Community Impact Grants. The two-hour sessions will be held at the United Way conference room located at 428 Bull St. on the following dates: July 14, 10 a.m.-noon; July 15, 3-5 p.m.; July 23, 3-5 p.m.; and July 24, 10 a.m.-noon.

The Community Impact Grant Application reflects the values and fundamental information about programs or services, as well as factors that are important to United Way and the community.

Funding will be provided for 2009 for programs that impact the work in one or more of three priority issue areas; education and youth development, health and wellness and economic independence.

The submission date for completed applications is the close of business Aug. 29. For more information call Richard Edwards at (912) 651-7727 or email redwards@uwce.org.

Through its strategic planning process, the UWCE has identified three primary issues. These priority issues serve to guide the United Way’s five-year plan to strategically allocate available resources to influence and enhance the long-term quality of life in the community.
