RINCON -- Local World War II hero James Sapp celebrated his 99th birthday Thursday.

Sapp, who received numerous medals and awards from his days as paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, was honored with cards, gifts and cake at Ms. Jean's, his favorite eating establishment.
