Alabama's Limestone County School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to offer its vacant superintendent position to Dr. Randy Shearouse.
Shearouse, a 32-year veteran of the Effingham County School District, was one of five finalists for the post. He is set to retire from Effingham County at the end of the current school year, having served as superintendent since 2005.
The board is set to begin negotiating a contract with Shearouse immediately.
