Asinc retires from Air Guard

After more than 33 years of distinguished military service, Lt. Col. George Asinc is retiring from the ranks of the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard, headquartered in Savannah.  

Asinc initiated his career of military service in the U.S. Army in Fort Jackson, S.C.  He received his commission after completing the Academy of Military Sciences and joined the 116th Fighter Wing at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta. Since 1993, he has served in the 165th Airlift Wing, first as a supply officer and the last 11 years as a judge advocate general.  

Asinc also serves locally in the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney.  

Asinc is a resident of Rincon.
