U.S. Rep. John Barrow (D-Savannah) will be hosting a health fair Wednesday for folks in the 12th District from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center.

Health care professionals will be on hand to administer free screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, stroke, osteoporosis, vision, cancer and other ailments. Experts will also be available to provide information on how to save money on prescription drugs; talk about nutrition, fitness, and immunizations; check car seat installations; and help folks get signed up for child care, health care, food stamps, Medicaid, Med Bank, and PeachCare.

“Times are tough right now, but there’s a lot of services we can provide to help,” said Barrow, “I hope folks will come out and take advantage of these services, get some information about keeping their families healthy, and hopefully get some peace of mind.”

For a full list of participating organizations and free services, visit Barrow’s Web site: www.barrow.house.gov and click on the Issue Spotlight section of the homepage.
