The Rotary Club of Effingham County raised nearly $1,500 for Special Olympics and scholarships for local students with a raffle during Effingham County’s Oktoberfest.

Rain canceled the drawing scheduled for Saturday night at Oktoberfest, and it was moved to Monday. First-prize winner Jeff Kramer of Rincon won a 50-inch widescreen Samsung television, second-prize winner Mary Hoffman of Rincon received a Kocaso Android tablet and third-prize winner Sam Edwards of Springfield won a Kindle Fire.
