Recently, Simpson Lumber in Meldrim allowed its employees to attend a special 10-minute presentation on the United Way programs in the Coastal Empire.

Employees learned one out of every three people have received services from at least one United Way-funded program, everything from Boy and Girl Scouts to American Cancer Society and more.

The United Way-Effingham has one week left in its annual campaign. If you would like to learn more about United Way, contact Bonnie Dixon, Effingham area director, at 826-5300 or bdixon@uwce.org.
