Band room at South Effingham getting makeover

Effingham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse said everything possible is being done to clear the air about a situation in the band room at South Effingham High School.

During the first week of school last month, a substance believed to be mold was found on band uniforms stored in a room adjacent to the area where the musicians practice.

“We’re doing a lot of renovation down at the band room,” Shearouse said Thursday.

Friends of Manna House is fundraising in August to renovate the busy food pantry parking lot. The community is invited to shop donated décor and support the project.
