Bennett lands Waste Pro job

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Waste Pro has hired Brett Bennett as its director of governmental affairs at its Hilton Head, S.C., Division. 

Bennett will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with communities and municipalities, searching for new areas in which to expand, interacting with customers, coordinating/attending special events, and more.

Bennett has a long history working with local government in the Hilton Head area. From 2006-2007, he worked as the finance director for the City of Rincon, Ga.. Afterward, he spent 12 years as the city manager in Springfield, Ga. 

Prior to joining Waste Pro, Bennett served as principal for Laurel Street Consulting LLC, where he handled business development for various service providers acting as the primary contact to create new relationships with local government clients while maintaining existing relationships.

“Brett knows these people,” said Hilton Head Division Manager Kevin Exley. “He’s been a resident and a servant to these people for so long – he knows what they need and deserve and is the best person to give it to them. He’s going to do great things for Waste Pro.”
