Bennett named vice chairman of bankers group

SAVANNAH — The Coastal Bank announces that senior vice president Chap Bennett has been elected the Division One vice chairman for the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, a leading organization which represents community banks across the state.

“I’m truly honored to serve the membership of such an important organization,” said Bennett. “I’m looking forward to helping the Community Bankers Association of Georgia reach an even higher level of success in the future.”

Bennett currently manages the bank’s construction and development loans and is responsible for business development, product implementation, training and strategic planning. Originally from Thomson,  he earned a finance degree from Georgia Southern University and graduated with honors from the University of Georgia’s School of Banking. Bennett has been named one of the region’s top “40 Under 40” and serves as vice chairman of the Effingham Industrial Development Authority.

The Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s (CBA) Leadership Division Board of Directors elected new Division One officers at the 29th Annual Leadership Division Convention, which was held June 20-24 at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island, Fla.
