The Effingham Chamber of Commerce held its 2nd annual Small Business Summit last week to a receptive audience of small business people. The event was designed to provide educational sessions on various business topics and ran from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

State Rep. Ann Purcell gave the opening remarks and attendees learned about advertising media from panelists representing the Effingham Herald, Savannah Morning News, Comcast Cable, the Cumulus Radio group and WTOC TV. Noah Yaughn of Arc Media spoke on social media, while Stephen George and Lynn Voss talked about accessing capital for small businesses. Marjorie Young taught the group how to use PR to establish yourself as the authority in your own field.

Trade show booths provided information from Comcast, Cumulus, Effingham Christian School, Windstream, Georgia Power, and Savannah Substance Abuse Testing.
