Starting Sept. 6, this fall’s 12-week Certificate in Professional HR Management class in Savannah provides an in-depth study of key areas in human resources.

While open to anyone, this exam-prep course helps HR professionals planning to certify as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior PHR through the December-January certification exam.

Georgia Southern University’s 36-hour course will meet at the Coastal Georgia Center, 6-9 p.m., Mondays, Sept. 6 to Nov. 21. The first class session is a Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday.

Developed with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the course uses the SHRM Learning System, whose stand-alone price is $795. In addition to homework-reading and classroom review of the six training modules, the class includes frequent quizzes in the classroom and online, exclusive additional study aids through the online Resource Center, and a syllabus designed for successful retention of course contents.

Early registration costs $925 for SHRM members and $970 for regular participants. SHRM members must provide proof of current membership in order to receive the discount.

Registration after Aug. 12 costs $1,000 for any participant. Registration closes at 5 p.m., Aug. 24.

The required 90-minute orientation session starts at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29.
