The Effingham Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Thursday for the new Guyton Animal Hospital.

Dr. Rese Schmetz and her staff and family hosted a large group to the celebration of her business opening on Highway 17 in Guyton.

Following the brief ceremony, the facility was opened up for tours and refreshments were served.

City Manager Robert Black said this was a great addition for the city of Guyton.
