Morgan re-elected to Georgia Health Care Association board

Effingham Health System Chief Executive Officer Norma Jean Morgan recently was re-elected to the Georgia Health Care Association board of directors at the summer board meeting.

Morgan is a certified nursing home administrator as well as the CEO of the health system. She first began her career in the hospital and nursing home industries in 1973. Since that time, she has remained active in acute and long-term care (LTC) as well as the assisted living industry. She expanded her LTC leadership scope to government oversight during the years she served as the Georgia  Department of Community Health director of Aging and Community Services.

The Effingham Care Center is recognized by the federal Five Star Quality Rating System. It is listed in the top 10 percent of the best nursing homes in Georgia.

The GHCA is the state’s largest association of long-term and post-acute care providers. It represents more than 360 providers of LTC who serve more than 73,000 older Georgians with more than 58,000 employees.
