State Rep. Buddy Carter also said he continues to field questions about the “megasite” off I-16. When Carter was mayor of Pooler, the state began talks with DaimlerChrysler and had a tentative deal for the automaker to build a Sprinter van plant there.
The site, nearly 3,000 acres, has been dormant since, but continues to raise interest from industries and businesses.
“It will happen. It will happen, I assure you,” Carter said.
He said the state’s Department of Economic Development continues working on landing a major prospect for the site.
