Five people are in custody following multiple drugs operations conducted by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) on Wednesday, including a Rincon man.
Throughout the day, CNT conducted multiple buy/bust operations at a local hotel on Savannah’s Southside and a gas station in Port Wentworth. After making contact with suspected drug dealers earlier in the week, CNT agents obtained rooms at a local hotel and began setting up the unsuspecting drug dealers.
Agents working in an undercover capacity called the various drug dealers, ordered undisclosed amounts of crack cocaine and invited the dealers to the hotel room. Once the drug sales were completed, agents, with the assistance of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department, rushed the unsuspecting dealers, taking all persons into custody without incident.
During the operation, CNT purchased $700 worth of crack cocaine, seized approximately 1.5 ounces of cocaine (powder and crack) worth an estimated street value of $1,600.00, recovered one stolen firearm from a convicted felon, seized more than $800 cash and two vehicles.
CNT arrested Jamall Lamont Williams, 32, Lori Ann Irish, 48, Deral Anthony Passmore, 18, all of Savannah and Coray Jerrod Stafford, 30, of Rincon. Both Williams and Stafford had prior drug arrests and are currently on probation or parole for drug related offenses.
In a separate buy/bust operation Wednesday evening in Port Wentworth, CNT agents working in an undercover capacity purchased 1/4 ounce of crystal methamphetamine “ice” from 25-year-old Ray Black Barney Jr. of Hardeeville, S.C. After making the drug sale, Barney was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and Port Wentworth Police Department. The purchased meth has an approximant street value of $600.
All persons are being held at the Chatham County Detention Center.
