Three teens arrested for SEMS break-in

Three teenagers were arrested overnight after breaking into South Effingham Middle School in Effingham County.

At approximately 2 a.m. Effingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a burglar alarm at the middle school. Once deputies made entry into the building, they located three suspects inside of a classroom. All three were taken into custody after a brief foot chase which took place inside of the school. 

A 14-year-old, 15-year-old, and 16-year-old were all charged with burglary. They were turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
