Work to last throughout the weekend

The Georgia Department of Transportation wants the traveling public to be aware of ramp closures on I-95 and I-16 in Chatham County. The contractor has scheduled closure of one ramp at a time through 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. The ramp closures are a necessity for the contractor to grind the concrete surface to creating a smooth roadway for motorists. All work is weather contingent.

This is a work zone, and the GDOT urges that extreme caution is necessary. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones.

The ramp closures and detours are as follows:

I-95 North exit 99B ramp closed to I-16 West; detour is I-95 North exit 102, Highway 80 East, Highway 307 South, I-16 West

I-16 West exit 157A ramp closed to I-95 South; detour is I-16 West exit 160, Highway 307 North, Highway 80 West, I-95 South exit 99B to I-16 West

I-16 West on-ramp from Dean Forest Road; detour is Highway 307 North/Dean Forest Road, US 80 West; I-95 South; Exit 99B to I-16 West

I-16 East on-ramp from Dean Forest Road; detour is Highway 307/North/Dean Forest Road, Highway 80 West, I-95 South, exit 99A to I-16 East
