Katelyn Harris, the Effingham County Fair Queen, partnered with Rustic Marketplace in Rincon to give back to the community this holiday season.

Harris and Rustic Marketplace raised money and collected turkeys and bags of rice for We Care for You Ministry in Hardeeville. 

Pastor Jack Green heads up this yearly initiative and was happy to have been able to give out 240 turkeys this year, exceeding each prior year.

South Effingham High School’s marching band launched its annual band camp on July 7, bringing together more than 120 student performers to prepare for the fall season and a new theme show titled “Parkour.” Under the leadership of veteran Band Director Sean McBride, students train in music, movement and teamwork during intensive nine-hour days that emphasize precision, endurance and camaraderie.
