RINCON -- Outgoing City Planner LaMeisha Hunter Kelly was honored with heartfelt words during Monday's Rincon City Council meeting.

Council members Levi Scott, Reese Browher, Ann Daniel and Patrick Kirkland joined Mayor Ken Lee, City Manager John Klimm, Police Chief Jonathan Murrell,  Public Works Director Tim Bowles and others in voicing appreciation for Kelly's 13 years of service to the City of Rincon. She was reduced to tears by some of the remarks.

Kelly is set to start a new job in Effingham County next week. She hasn't announced her new position but plans to do so soon.

See the July 1 edition of the Effingham Herald for more details.
