Georgia Power will have a planned outage on Fort Howard Road from Sweetwater Circle to Flat Ditch Road today beginning at 9 a.m.

Stan Sparks, area manager with Georgia Power, said like the previous planned outages this outage will last up to eight hours.

He said to this point during each of the outages power has been restored well within the eight hours.

“Upgrades are being done to help us prepare to meet the energy demands of the county going forward,” Sparks said. “This particular step will impact a total of 81 customers.”

He said the alternative date in the event of inclement weather is Oct. 14.

Sparks said all impacted customers were notified prior to the outage.
