The Effingham Chamber of Commerce announced its annual Eggs and Issues Review Breakfast, scheduled for April 13 at 7:30 a.m. at the Effingham College and Career Academy on Highway 21 in Rincon. This breakfast is presented by Vision Financial. Reservations must be made by April 11.

The annual event is an opportunity to visit with state legislators and hear their responses to current issues and questions concerning Effingham County. State Sen. Jack Hill and Reps. Jon Burns and Bill Hitchens will be in attendance and will address the audience and answer questions following a delicious breakfast prepared by Any Style Catering.

There will be a panel discussion with Sen. Hill, Rep. Burns and Rep. Hitchens. The Chamber’s Governmental Affairs committee prepared a list of issues for the elected officials involving funding for transportation, education, health care, support for economic development and how the 2016 session of the General Assembly could affect our community.

“We expect a great turnout for this event,” Chamber President Yvette Carr said. “Last year we had over 80 attendees at the Breakfast and we expect a great turnout again on April 13. We appreciate our friends at Vision Financial sponsoring this great event.”

Chamber members have been asked to submit questions for the legislative team and attendees will also be invited to submit their written questions to the program’s moderator who will direct them to our panel of elected officials.

The Chamber asks that reservations be made by April 11 so the meal count can be made. Please contact the chamber by telephone or by email. Call 754-3301 or email to: Breakfast cost is $12 for Chamber members and $15 for visitors.
