A proposed cross country trail for the Effingham Industrial Development Authority’s Research Forest Tract is gaining traction.

IDA CEO John Henry said support for the idea has been broad based and is growing.

“Everybody is encouraged. Everybody is enthusiastic,” he said. “I think we can move forward. It can be a real great economic benefit for the community.”

Erin Rahn of the IDA showed IDA members what could be done for high school and collegiate cross country trails around Blandford Elementary School.
