SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Reblels won when hits were scarce and lost when runs with plentiful in the second round of the Class AAAAAA baseball playoffs Thursday.

Ethan Johnson hurled a one-hitter in the opener of the best-of-three set against Grovetown, leading Effingham County to a 1-0 victory. In the second contest, however, the Warriors jumped to a 7-0 in the first inning and went on to coast to a 12-6 victory.

The final game of the series will start Friday at 4 p.m. at Rebel Field.
