The Rincon Garden Club recently helped Effingham County Habitat for Humanity with a landscaping project at a completed house in Guyton.
The club provided soil, holly shrubs, snapdragons, and violas nestled in pine straw for the flower bed in front of the house.
Rincon Garden Club Chairman Nancy Laundre, was assisted by Co-Chair Brenda Helmly and club members Carol Grubbs, Rose Tedesco, Gayla Kessler, and Jean Spradling.
The three-bedroom, two- bathroom house dedicated Feb. 22 is the home of LaPeria Mydell and her sons, Jordan and Jacobie.
Habitat partnered with Thrivent Financial to provide funds for the building of the house.
There were also several members of the community who were sponsors, along with congregational sponsors.
All attendees were invited to Miss Jean’s Restaurant for brunch sponsored by Thrivent Financial.
Three more houses are to be built on the property, one a year for the next three years.
The beautification of our communities and America is one of the objectives of all Georgia Garden Clubs.
