RINCON  -- Capt. Stacey Strickland, former interim public safety director in Guyton, has served City of Guyton and Effingham County officials with the initial paperwork necessary to file a civil lawsuit.

Strickland was terminated by Guyton officials last summer following an investigation into his alleged involvement in a lewd Facebook page that used the likeness of a Guyton firefighter. An appeal was denied by the city council.

Those sent notices, according to attorney Joey Turner of The Turner Firm LLC, include Mayor Jeff Lariscy, City Manager Thomas Werth,  the Effingham County Board of Commissioners , the county administrator and the county attorney.

The parties have 30 days to respond.
