SPRINGFIELD -- Twenty-year-old Darious Devantez Goldwire has been arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts (felony) in regard in a school incident last month.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to Effingham High School on Jan. 15 in response to a threat made against students. The threat was made on social media, using a bogus account.
Investigators have been working since that date to determine who was behind the threats. According to the sheriff's office, this is a very serious matter that has become a joke to students and will often result in copycat threats.
Goldwire was arrested Monday evening and transported to the Effingham County Jail.
