RINCON -- A suspect has been arrested in the killing of a woman whose body was discovered in a wooded area behind a Lisa Street business on Sept. 14.

Dimario Bernard Garrett, 27, of Tillman, S.C., was arrested Tuesday. He is suspected of shooting Dmytrias Jasmine Smith, 24, of Garnett, S.C.

The Rincon Police Department thanked the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Bluffton Police Department, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department, SLED, GBI, Chatham County Police Department, Ridgeland Police Department, Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office Investigators, Springfield Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office Career Criminal Unit (SC), Chatham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during the Investigation.
