Effingham County Sheriff’s investigators have ruled out foul play in the death of a toddler who drowned in a swimming pool Friday evening in Effingham County.

Deputies responded to a residence in the 600 block of Deerfield Road East on a report of a child unresponsive who had fallen into a swimming pool. Emergency personnel started CPR and the child was taken to a local hospital.

Ayden Anderson, 22 months, of Bloomingdale was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy was conducted Saturday at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta. Initial reports indicate that the cause of death was an accidental drowning.
