SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division has arrested two people in connection with a homicide on Holly Lane. 

On Tuesday morning, deputies were called to 229 Holly Lane for a welfare check after a family friend attempted to check on Dennis Wills and discovered a body. Investigators believe the body had been there for several days

Aaron Knight, 25, and Autumn White, 31, are being held and facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with intent to murder, aggravated assault with intent to rob, armed robbery, financial card transaction fraud and financial card thef,t as well as theft by taking firearm. They remain in the Effingham County Jail. 

The victim is believed to be the property owner, 64-year-old Dennis Wills Sr.. However, at the time of this news release, fingerprint identification was still ongoing.

The  Pooler Police Department, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Rincon Police Department assistated in the investigation, which is ongoing. More felony charges are expected to be filed..
