Habitat's ReStore is ready to help
Placeholder Image

Dear Editor,

We have been asked, what is a ReStore?

This is a store that was put up for Habitat for Humanity to sell furniture, appliances, building supplies and miscellaneous goods.

The money is then used to build more homes for families in Effingham County that live in substandard homes. The families that will be receiving one of these homes have worked 250 hours toward their home and others. They will have a no-interest mortgage to Habitat for 20 years.

As store manager, I would like to thank the people of Effingham, Chatham and other counties, as well as South Carolina, for their support in donations and the purchase of these goods. The amount of businesses that have helped with donation are very much appreciated and we are very grateful for the builders that have left over building supplies, also. We can give you a receipt for a tax write-off.

People are bringing in donations daily; we do ask that they are in working condition, as we have no way to repair anything.

Our store hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-2 p.m. We can be reached by phone at 826-6433 or 826-1476.

We would really appreciate anyone that can volunteer a little of their time to help in the store or cashier. I can be reached on my cell phone at 663-4190 anytime.

I would like to thank you again for all your support and hope to see a lot more of you visiting us.

May God bless you and yours,
Jim Miller
