Middle school champions crowned

The South Effingham Middle School girls captured the region tennis title. The South Effingham Middle School girls captured the region tennis title, and the Ebenezer boys won the boys championship at the region finals, held at SEMS on Nov. 19.

SEMS beat Richmond Hill in the girls finals, with Ebenezer and Screven County also making the semifinals.

Members of the SEMS girls team are Keyvonna Moultrie, Logan Edwards, Makaylah Pevey, Samantha Rodriguez, Megan Small and Melanie Bott, along with alternates Kearsetyn Bargeron, India Davis, Lorin Alderman and Kelsie Brown. Coaches are Shannon Heard and Mike Gadomski.

Ebenezer topped Screven in the boys finals. Langston Chapel and Effingham County also made the semifinals.
