Wallace delivers decisive blow for Mustangs

  • Dylan Wallace's single on an 0-1 pitch propelled the South Effingham Mustangs to a 4-3, extra-innings victory over Richmond HIll on Friday.
  • Wallace joined Jakob Valleroy and Dillon Jordan as Mustangs with multiple hits in the home contest.  They combined for six of the team's seven safeties.
  • Hunter Morgan was the winning pitcher. He allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out four. 
  • Josh Berg was the South Effingham starter. He allowed two runs (one earned) and struck out seven in five frames.
  • The Mustangs, winners of four of their last six games, fell behind 2-0 in the first frame and didn't score until the sixth. They scratched for two runs in the bottom of the seven and the decisive one in the eighth.
