

GUYTON -- Effingham County's boys used a late run to pull away from South Effingham 67-43 in a packed Mustangs gym Friday night.
The Rebels (3-5, 1-1 Region 2-AAAAAA) led 48-41 with six minutes to play before ending the game on a 19-2 spurt en route to their 29th straight win in a series of county rivals.
Keion Wallace led ECHS with 18 points, Khiry Wallace had 12 and Rashad Scott added 11.
Andrew Butler had 16 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to pace the Mustangs (1-7, 0-2).
In the girls game, SEHS used balanced scoring to defeat the Rebels 46-15.
The Mustangs (6-3, 1-1) jumped out to a 20-2 lead during the first nine minutes and cruised the rest of the way.
Elena Hairston had 10 of her game-high 14 points in the second half. Kay'mar Griffin had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, all in the first half and Laney Dobbs finished with 10 points.
Kyjana Jordan had seven points to lead ECHS (1-4, 0-2).
