SPRINGFIELD -- The scores of Effingham County's home baseball and softball contests will look better next season even when the Rebels don't win.

Two larger, more advanced scoreboards are being installed for the Rebels and Lady Rebels.

"Both boards are bigger than the previous scoreboards and will feature the inning-by-inning score feature," Effingham County athletic Matt Huntley said.." The scoreboards that were currently at both complexes were original to the fields  so it was definitely time for an upgrade. They will be impressive once they are done."

The scoreboard project is funded by local businesses.

"We are very fortunate to have some great corporate partners to help us with the funding of these projects," Huntley said. "We want to send a huge thank you to our sponsors: Savannah Coca-Cola, Rincon Chevrolet, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, The Newberry Firm and Burns Insurance."
