ATLANTA — The ASUN Conference announced its All-Conference basebal team Thursday, naming six members of the Kennesaw State the first and second teams.

Designated hitter Garrett Hodges, a former South Effingham standout, and starting pitcher Jake Rice highlight the first team, while starting pitcher Ryan Kennedy, catcher Tyler Tolve, second baseman Jesse Sherrill and outfielder Alex Carballo make the second team list.

The six honorees matches the highest tally in the program's record. The only other time the ASUN All-Conference team sported six Owls was 2014, the same year Kennesaw State won its first ASUN Tournament and made it to the NCAA Super Regionals.

In a season with plenty of home runs for the Owl, Hodges led the way with eight bombs. His six homers against ASUN teams is the second-best figure in the conference and his total tally ties him in fifth.

While being named as the ASUN's first team All-Conference selection at designated hitter, the left fielder placed second in RBIs and total bases in conference play. His .365 batting average against teams in Kennesaw State's division is a top-10 average in the ASUN. His hitting talents were on full display March 13 against Bellarmine, where the slugger went five-for-five with two RBIs against the Louisville, Ky. team.
