Rebels achieve milestone win for coach

SPRINGFIELD -- Effingham County swept Lakeside 8-0 and 9-0 on Thursday, lifting coach Brad Thompson to his 402nd career victory.

Thompson was honored for his 400th win, achieved earlier in the week, before the Region 2-AAAAAA doubleheader.

Thompson is in his first season with the Rebels, who are 15-2 overall and 11-2 in 2-AAAAAA. He spent 16 seasons at Vidalia, going 387-155.
